DESCRIPTION	Martha Gayle was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on July 1, 1932. As a child she moved to Buckeye, Arizona with her parents, both of whom were school teachers. After attending Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina and working in California and Nevada, she returned to Buckeye where she has lived for most of her life. After retirement Ms. Gayle became a freelance writer for the Buckeye Valley News. Her articles deal mainly with the comings and goings of various alumni of Buckeye Union High School, the oldest school in Buckeye. Ms. Gayle has also written about the two Prisoner of War (POW) camps that were located in and around Buckeye during World War II. These camps housed German, Italian, and Japanese POWs until the end of the war. Both subjects are described in detail through the course of her interview.
