| DESCRIPTION | William Bond was born and raised in New Mexico. He moved to Arizona about 1971 to take a teaching position at Pearce Elementary School in Cochise County. Mr. Bond also taught at Duncan and Saint Johns before going to the University of Arizona for his Master's degree. He then taught in the Naraba District before moving to the Rio Rico District in Santa Cruz County, where he taught from 1986 until his retirement in 2007. Mr. Bond talks of his experiences teaching in low income schools and communities and the changes in Tucson since the 1970s. Since retirement he has been volunteering at a retirement community. Mr. Bond also share several stories about his pets, including the time his cat, Petey, represented the Humane Society at a performance of the Tucson Symphony. |
