Porter Jones Esq
Dear Sir & Bro
I take great pleasure in telling you that your wishes in regard to your son’s
remains have been fulfilled. A committee of seven Masons were sent to the
place of his burial and the remains were raised and placed in a neat coffin and
buried with Masonic honors yesterday in the Masonic Cemetery at this place.
While I feel certain that you will continue to sorrow for your “loved and lost”
your grief will be mitigated somewhat with the reflection that his remains have
been by the hands of his Brethren consigned to his resting place until the
summons of the Grand Master of the universe shall convene the Grand Supreme
Lodge May we all meet there “properly clothed”
Our secretary will forward to you a copy of the record of our proceedings
As to the affairs of your son financially I do not believe there is anything in
the Territory that could now be recovered
Hoping that this may find you in the enjoyment of health and prosperity
and that you may long enjoy the same I subscribe myself
Yours Fraternally
J.T. Alsap

at Prescott Arizona
Have you a portrait of your son from which a Photograph could be taken? If you
have would you confer a favor upon us if you would send us the photograph as
we keep an album of all the Brethren in this vicinity
