Thirty-seven communities had been serviced. It was surprising 'in light of the first run statistics in .. ,hich 1'Te hit only a dozen. The first stop was on, actually off, US 80 east of Tucson. Vail was the name of the to .. m and Vail Junction vlaS vlhere I stopped. Vail is right at the entrance to Colossal Cave, a place much more heavily advertised than the tm'llsi t e of VaiL f.1rs. Ruth Matthews, postmaster "lho also runs a store and gas station, informed me that most of the regular inhabitants i. e. three families, v[ere allay either on vacation or a jaunt to the city. Greaterville is in the center of the Santa Rita mountains on the border of the r angelands of Santa Cruz County. "_~A~TY.::.P:::..:ICAL TRIP - J IH ROBBELOTH \ihen I returned from the second bookmobile trip into Cochise County and the southeastern corner of the state, Bill Brennan, my fellow driver, brought an unusual statistic to my attention. Her family took out some books and clued me in about the road south to Sonoita. On that road south, State 83, I had Greaterville marked as the first stop. Greaterville is in the center of the Santa Rita mountains on the border of the r angelands of Santa Cruz County. Before reaching Great erville I was taking some bad r oads, washed and puddled by the rains of the day before.
