What's New at the Board?
At the end of June, the Board hired a new Executive Director, me, Allen Imig. I bring to the Acupuncture Board, executive experience from working at the Chiropractic Board as their investigator and then as their Deputy Director in charge of licensing and other administrative duties. I am excited to be onboard and looking forward to making the Boards priorities happen as well as making the administrative duties go as smooth as possible. If I can help answer any questions or just chat, please give me a call at the Board office. Here are a few things that are in the works: A website where you can look up a licensee or certificate holder, get general and licensing information, newsletters and print off applications and other forms. There will also be links to our laws and rules. Finalizing rules that have been in the works for some time.

Renewal Time Reminders
We will mail you your license or certificate renewal application 60 days before you need to renew. If you moved and did not update the information with us in writing, you may not get your renewal. Renewal notices are mailed to your address of record. When you renew you must have completed the required 15 hours of qualifying continuing education. The expiration date is printed on the renewal letter so make sure your license or certificate renewal is completely filled out and gets to the Board office by that date or it will be late. If your license or certificate renewal is late or you decide to renew late, there is an additional $100.00 late fee over and above your renewal fee (Ouch) and you cannot practice in Arizona until you do renew. Remember, your renewal is always due every year on your initial licensing or certificate anniversary date. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Initial Ornamental License
The Board is implementing an initial ornamental license to all new licensees and to current licensees when they renew.
Continuing Education Documentation
In the past, when you sent your renewal back, you had to send along a copy of your CE certificate documenting 15 hours. Things have changed to the following: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Complete 15 hours of Board approved CE's per year. (same as before) Indicate on the renewal the number of hours and sign and date the renewal attesting the hours were completed. (same as before) You now DO NOT have to send in a copy of your CE's with the renewal. (new) To insure compliance the CE's were in fact taken, random audits will take place through out the year. (new) You are required to retain a minimum of 2 years records of all CE courses. (same as before) Should you get an audit notice you are required to submit documentation of CE course work completion. (new)
Two Part Renewal Receipt
The Board is implementing a two-part renewal receipt one small wall mount and a credit card size to carry with you. Both will show your license number and expiration date, along with other information. ##################################################
