The Old Trails Museum is located in the heart of Winslow’s historic business district and across the street from the Standin’ on the Corner Park. Admission is free, photography is encouraged, and group tours, classroom visits, and research appointments are welcome with advance notice. The OTM Store specializes in regional Navajo and Hopi arts and crafts, books on local and regional history, and the museum’s annual historical calendar featuring images from Winslow’s history.

The Old Trails Museum is owned and operated by the Winslow Historical Society, whose mission is to receive, preserve, and interpret information and artifacts representing the history and cultures of the Winslow area, in order to engage and enlighten all visitors to the Old Trails Museum’s exhibits and programs. The Winslow Historical Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, is funded primarily by the City of Winslow, with additional support from memberships, donations, and sales.

The Old Trails Museum originally operated as the Winslow branch of the Navajo County Historical Society, which incorporated in 1969. Western Savings and Loan donated the 1921 First National Bank building to the Navajo County Historical Society in 1985, and the Old Trails Museum opened in 1989. The Winslow branch decided to form its own entity and incorporated as the Winslow Historical Society in 1997. A dedicated group of staff and volunteers has continued to improve the museum’s historic setting and to offer free exhibits and programs that interpret Winslow’s diverse history.
