Contributed by Arizona Historical Advisory Commission (AHAC)

Commissioned by the Arizona House Joint Resolution from 2008, the Senator Barry Goldwater statue was created to replace one of the existing statues dedicated to Arizona in the National Statuary Hall in Washington D.C. The bronze statue was created by Deborah Copenhaver Fellows and is 8 feet tall featuring Senator Goldwater gesturing as if speaking. This collection features photographs from the statue's beginning as a clay model to its unveiling and temporary placement within the rotunda of the Arizona State Capital Museum.
