Contributed by Postal History Foundation

The Arizona Automobile Correspondence collection is comprised of advertising covers - mail that was originally sent by Arizona automotive dealers and other automotive-related companies. All are postmarked in Arizona, many of them in Tucson, and span the years 1924 to 1982. The covers are a combination of envelopes and postcards. Of particular interest in this collection are the instances of commercial art work, pictorial cancellations, and postal slogan cancellations. The covers are historically significant as they show the branding, addresses, and business practices of Arizona automobile dealers, tire companies, and service stations, many of which are no longer in existence.
