This collection contains PDF versions of daily weather reports of territorial Yuma from the mid- to late- 1880s. These entries were the work of the Signal Service U.S.A. United States Army Signal Corps, whose work was the precursor and foundation of the now National Weather Service (NWS). These weather reports contain information on an array of topics ranging from natural phenomenon such as sunrises, sunsets, and weather (wind, cloud, rain, sandstorms) to effects of weather on transportation, information regarding station inspections, issues with cleaning staff, and other items relating to the running of the station.
