is R. F. Coleman and that he resides in the City of Tombstone# Cochise
Co . , A. T. and that his bus-iness that 01" a mining man .
I saw the trouble that occurad on Oct . 26th, 81 •

I saw the arre'st of' Ike Cla.."1t.on be1"ore the shooting commenced .
I saw City Marshall go up to Ike Clanton from behind or partially
towards hisslde Marshall Earp spoke to him but I did not hear what
he said . The Marshall made 8, grab and took a riffle out ·of' Clantons
hand . there then seemed to bea li.ttlescuf'tle by bothoi.' them when
Clanton rell . I did not see the Marshall strike him but I saw
Clanton fall and they took his revolver from him and took h1m into
the Pol ice Court . Earp had a revolver in his hand but whether he
took it rrom Clanton or not I could not say . After the trial was
over Mar.shall Earp offered Ike Clanton his r1ft'l e some words passed
between them I could not hear what it was he did not take his ri1"fle
some words passed between them Ike Clanton said all I want is ~ 4

to Smith ' s old store that is the last! saw of him till I saw him
with his brotherB11~y on Allen Street going down t owards Dunbar ' s
Correll . I was standing at the front of the OK Correll on Allen
Street, 1n Dunba.!" , s Correll I saw the 2 Clantons and 2 McLowery
boys in one of the stalls in deep conversation I saw Mr. J . Doll ing
speaking to Ike Clanton after they had got through with the talk
amongst themselve.s they then came out or the correll and came over
towards the OK Correll I mean the 2 Clantona and 2 McLowerys .
Billy Clanton wa.s on horse back Frank McLowery was leading his
horse w.hen they came up to where I was standing . Billy Clanton
remarked to me 1 t was very c.old he as_ked me then where the West
End Correll was I told him it was down on Fremont Street Frank
MeLowery had passed on before this talk between me and Billy
Clanton. Ike Clant-on fetched up the rear . As soon as they lett
me I walked up Allen Street I got as far as the --- saloon on
Allen Street. There I met Sheriff Behan I told him that he should

and met Marshall Earp - I repeated the same 'thing to him a.bout 41sarming
those men ... I then went back and passed tnrougn the OK Correll

saw Johnny Behan the Sheriff just leaving there - I heard one of'
the Clanton party say you need 'not be afraid Johnny ... J'ohl'U)y was
about 12 ft • .tram them walking up the street - You need not be
afraid Johnny weare not gOing to have any trouble or something to
that efrect . I saw standing there Billy CI,anton Frank McLowel~

Frank McLowerystood next to him - Ike Clanton~om McLower;yand
Wm. Claiborn were standl'ng3 o.r 4 ft . from them - That is the. possi~ion
in which I saw them when I saw Johnny Behan leaving them - I turned
around and went up Fremont street - I got as tar as Bauers I'tleat
Market - nearly opposite me at the time was Wyatt Earp Vlrg Ea:t>p
Morgan Earp a.nd Doc Holliday walking down the center of" Fremont
Street - Johnny Behan walked up. towards them hold boys I don't want
you to go any farther I don ' t think they made any reply to his re-mark
at all but passed on down the street till they came OppOSite
to the Clanton part"Y- the Earp party advanced towards the ClantoDs -
I heard sons-ot-bitches mentioned by which party I could not say
I was about 30 feet away - throw up your arms , gl va up your arms
wa,ssaid by the Earps-I think it was Wyatt - I then thought I was
a little ,close I turned around and as I turned, or in the act of"
turning two shots were fired - when the firing became general
amongst them after the first two shots were fired Ike Clanton
ran up and ran through Flys Galery - One .shot fired at him came
pretty near to roe and struck a wagon standing in front of Barbershop-
there was aseaond shot fired in that d1rection - Tom
McLowery after the two shots were fired ran down Fremont street
