AGIC shall participate in activities to define those categories of spatial data appropriate for standardization and establish standards of content, format and accuracy for the identified data categories. AGIC shall coordinate interagency map production or acquisition and geographic data base development. AGIC shall study cartographic and geographic information systems issues and make recommendations to responsible entities.

EXECU TIV E ORDER 2003-02 ESTABLISHING THE GOVERNOR'S 9-11 MEMORIAL COMMISSION
WHEREAS, thousands of people lost their lives on September 11, 2001, in an attack on humanity; mothers, fathers, sons and daughters from a multitude of religious and cultural heritages and of every age and every race did not make it home to their loved ones on that tragic day; and WHEREAS, this attack occurred on the land and in the sky at the World Trade Center in New York City, at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and in the air over Pennsylvania, and included victims from Arizona, as well as family members and friends of Arizonans; and WHEREAS, firefighters, police officers, health care workers and first responders of all kinds demonstrated their endless dedication by charging head-on into danger, even though that danger was an inferno of unimaginable proportions; and WHEREAS, Arizonans immediately responded to these shocking events by being part of the first rescue and recovery teams, waiting in line in 100-degree heat to donate blood, sending out clothing, supplies, money, and prayers, and performing endless acts of selflessness; and WHEREAS, "9-11" and its aftermath have been a time when we have witnessed the worst of humanity followed by the best of humanity, a time filled with remembrance and resilience, a time responded to with courage over cowardice, service over selfishness, hope over fear, and love over hate--a time which we must ensure will never be forgotten; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jane Dee Hull, Governor of the State of Arizona, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor by the Arizona Constitution and the laws of the State, do hereby establish the Governor's 9-11 Memorial Commission to serve the purpose of planning, designing and guiding the establishment of a permanent Memorial in honor and memory of those who lost their lives in one of this nation's most horrific tragedies and to those who kept their spirits alive through unity and sacrifice, and to serve as a meaningful place for families to go to reflect upon these events for generations to come. 1. 2. The members of the Commission shall be appointed by the Governor and shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor. The Commission shall consist of no more than 35 people. a. b. c. The Commission membership shall include a chairperson to be named by the Governor. The Commission membership shall include at-large members representing government, first responders, victims, the business community, the general public and other diverse parties who share an interest in the development of this Memorial. The members shall serve terms of two years from the date of this executive order and may be re-appointed by the Governor for additional two-year terms. Page 1167 Volume 9, Issue 14

d. 3. 4. 5. 6. The Governor's Office shall serve as staff to the Commission.
The Commission shall plan and establish an appropriate and fitting Memorial in remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001. The Commission shall solicit and review ideas and designs for the Memorial. The Commission shall identify funding strategies for the costs of the Memorial and related expenses. The Commission shall submit an interim report on its activities to the Governor on or before September 11, 2003, and it shall be posted on the Governor's website.
