Executive Order 2003-05 STATE COORDINATED EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLANS
WHEREAS, serving the needs of Arizona in the 21st Century requires state government to provide the most efficient and effective services possible; and WHEREAS, the events of September 11, 2001 and the Rodeo-Chediski Fire highlighted the need to be prepared for potential disruptions of essential Government Services; and WHEREAS, the State of Arizona must improve its preparedness, response, and recovery capability for natural disasters and emergencies of all kinds, including terrorist attacks; and WHEREAS, State disaster, emergency and terrorism management plans must be coordinated and periodically reviewed and renewed to ensure that they are current, effective and responsive. NOW THEREFORE, I, Janet Napolitano, Governor of Arizona, do hereby direct all executive branch agencies and institutions to prepare and provide me, within 120 days, their plans to continue the delivery of essential State services and the security of their customers and employees, in the event of a human-made or natural disaster. Each agency and institution will be provided guidelines and a checklist to develop the plans.
