Executive Order 2003-06 DEPARTMENT OF VETERAN AFFAIRS CABINET POSITION WHEREAS, Arizona is home to over half a million military veterans; and WHEREAS, veterans have made great personal sacrifices to serve and defend the United States of America and the State of Arizona; and WHEREAS, veterans have risked their lives to protect the freedoms of all citizens in the United States and the State of Arizona; and WHEREAS, all citizens of the State of Arizona are indebted to veterans for their sacrifices; and WHEREAS, the unique perspective of veterans can benefit decisions that affect the citizens of the State of Arizona; and WHEREAS, the interests of veterans must be protected and heard at the highest levels of government; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Janet Napolitano, Governor of the State of Arizona, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Arizona Constitution and the laws of the State, do hereby order that the Director of the Department of Veteran's Affairs shall serve on my cabinet and shall be invited to attend and participate in all future meetings of the Governor's cabinet.
