Graduation exercises will
begin for 425 students at
Glendale Community College
Sunday, May 31 when the
baccalaureate sermon will be
(Ie!ivered by the Most Reverend
Edward McCarthy, Bishop of
Phoenix, in the Student Union
at 8 p.m.
Graduation exercises will be
Wednesday, June 3, at 8 p.m. in
the stadium.
The principal address will be
delivered by Dr. Merle C. Nutt,
chairman of the Department of
Engineering at Arizona State
University.
Other speakers will be Dr.
John F. Prince, president of the
Maricopa County Junior College
District, and Dr. Robert Easley,
president of the board.
The 1970 class graduates
number 353 day students and 49
evening, or Continuing
Education students.
Twenty-three nurses will be
receiving their AA degree also.
This degree will allow the nurse
graduates to write the Arizona
State Board of Nursing
examination for a license to
practice as a Registered Nurse.
Students who earn an
Associate of Arts degree have
the added advantage in that this
degree generally guarantees
acceptance of such students by
any university or college for the
remainder of the studies for a
baccalaureate degree.
As soon as the graduation
exercises are finished,
preparation for the summer
-session will be in full swing.
Registration is scheduled for
day and evening courses June
10-11 and classes begin June
15.
An extensive variety of classes
has been scheduled for summer
school students.
