PHOENIX SYMPHONY - The Glendale Community College Continuing Education Associated Students
will present the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra in concert on October 22nd.
The performance, an Artists' Series event, will be played at 3:00 pm in the

the student center, the CEAS off on campus and the Bell Plaza Sun City
office. The concert will be under the direction of Gerald Thatcher.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS CENTER - Fifty-eight reproductions of famous paintings, framed and
teady for hanging, are on open circulation in the Library. Selection can be made from the
Art Print Photo Album at the Circulation Desk in the library; the prints are circulated on
a first-come first-serve basis. To make the prints available to as many students as possible, -,
there is a limit of one print per person. Students must show their ID cards each time they
check out an art print, book or other materials. All prints are due back May 4, 1979.
Borrowers assume full responsibility for liability in the event of loss or damage; however,
there is no rental fee.
Students may check out art prints beginning January 22, 1979. Faculty and staff may begin
check out January 29, 1979.
Schedule for cassette duplication and tape player check-out - A student enrolled in a course
using audio materials is to bring his cassette tape (90-minute TDK Highlander, Memorex, or
~cotch only) to the Library Circulation Desk where he will be gi1Ten a label on which to write .~
his name and the title of the tape to be copied (tape cases should not be left). Tapes requir,
24 hours for duplication.

Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Presentation will be given by Dr. Michael Miller,
Co-Editor of SugsestedGuideline For Local Scho01 District Compliance With
Section 504 of the Vocational Rehabilitation Act ~f 1973. The workshop will
be held Feb. 7 t 1979, 9:jO~10:00 a.m., in the Student Lo~nge. Workshop is
open to anyone interested in learning about Section 504.
BLACK HERITAGE. WEEK will be held Feb. 12-16. There is a full 'slate ot action

~ Learning Assistance Center has recently acquired a Visualtek, Model RS-8. Basically, the
maltek is a video low vision aid manufactured to enable people with moderate to severe
~ht limitation to easily, independently read and write. The system utilizes a television
litor, a camera and a powerful lens. Nearly anything that can be "seen" by the camera can
viewed greatly magnified--to over 60 times the origianl size--onthe monitor screen. If
