can be even better if our diverse student body will help. By help I mean
help xourself and the school. Many activities are available to students
free of charge. For example. can you say that you have gone to a football
game. have you attended any sport event while at GCC?
I am sure you have been told many times there is more to college than homework
and classes. Indeed there ist Try It! Get Involved! For information on

is cracking down on the 90% unpaid parking violations. There will
be strict inforcement beginning immediately on the existing
parking rules and regulations. With the use of a new computer.
the violator's identification tag number can be crossed checked
with the registration card in security. A fee will then be assessed
against the student if left unpaid.
An amnesty period from now until Dec. 7 will be declared for all
past violations in an effort not to jam the computer with the
large backlog of information. All previous violations can be paid_
at the rate of $2 during the amnesty period. When the Jnformatio~
is entered into the computer the fine will be subject to the usual
doubling. Additional fines for muliple violations will also be
assessed.
Security hopes to set up a traffic court with Associated Students
sitting on the board. Violators will then have the opportunity
to plead their case if necessary.
Similar cou~ts have been set up by other colleges in the district.
A $25 fine has been approved for handicapped space violations.
Fines that are left unpaid may be assesed against the students'
transcripts and could thwart graduation efforts.

ATTENTION WORK STUDY STUDENTS: Many of you have CWS hours that you
~- II·" - need to make-up." This is causing a problem for many of you as
your supervisors have only limited time available for you.
As you mayor may not know, the registration periods of January
7,8,9, and 10, 1980 is a period wherein the CWS program does' not
"expect" ~tudents to work. However, this is an opportunity for you
to accomplish two objectives. The first is to "make-up" the CWS
time you are behind and second is to make a real, positive contribution
to your fellow-students.
We are soliciting those who would like to participate in the registration
period of January 7-10 to contact the Student Financial Aid
Office immediately .
