ANTI-VIETNAM WAR DAY PROGRAM: A joint student.;lndfaculty committee is sponsoring the AntiVietnam
War DaYQn the Glendale campus on Wednesday, October 15.' The program is scheduled
to start on the Mall at 11 a.m. Speakers will inciude the Rev. Charles Sellers, Methodist
Chaplain at ASU, and Mr. Jerry Pollock, Phoenix Attorney. A conscientious objector will
also appear. Time for discussion will be scheduled after,each speaker. Proceedings will
begin with a five minute silent vigil at the flagpole and· are scheduled to end at 1 p.m.
It is our hope that you might find it possible to spend some or all of this time with us.

in the AISL Fall Practice Debate Tournament held at Phoenix College on October 11. The

EXPERIMENT 1! INTERNATIONAL LIVING!! Would you like to spend the summer in a foreign country
as a 'member' of a family group? Glendale Community College hopes to sponsor this program
by raising funds to send students abroad during 1970. Students who have further questions or
who would like to apply may pick up an application from Dean Butler in SO-5. Applications

ART EXHIBITION: G.C.C. Instructional Materials Center will house a sales Exhibition of the
work of Kaethe Kollwitz November 1 through 21.
PHOTOGRAM EXHIBIT: Photograms created by the students in beginning photography will be displayed
in the Christown Mall. The designs are literally "drawn by light" and represent
some of the best compositions done by the photo students in their first class assignment.
These prints were shown at Sun City, wednesday the 5th. The show at Christown will last from
Monday the 10th to Friday the 14th according to Mr. Petersen, photography instructor.

IMC CENTER-CIRCULATING ART PRINT COLLECTION NOW READY I Fifty-eight reproductions of famous
paintings, framed, ~eady for hanging, and valu~d at approximately $1500, will go on open
circulation beginning Thursday, December 4, 1969. The reproductions will be displayed along
the glass wall of the patio in the IMC for two days preceding the 4th. First come first
served. Sorry, no advance reservations. In order to make the prints available to as many
students as possible, there will be no renewals and the circulating period will be for one
month, with a limit of one print per borrcnier • All prints<which circulate Dec. 4 will be
due Jan. 7, 1970, and will be available again second semester on Feb. :4. Thecollection
includes works by Buffet, Cezanne, Gauguin, Marin, Modigliani,Honet, Picasso, Renoir,
Rivera, Utrillo, and Van Gogh. Only students will be allowed to check out paintings on
Dec. 4 and 5; if any remain, these will become available to faculty and staff beginning
Dec. 8. Borrowers assume full responsibility for liability in event of loss or damage, but
there is no rental fee for borrowing. This is a first for Glendale and we are yeryproud

committee has worked out a special achievement scholarship program which will enable outstanding
junior college transfers to attend Grand Canyon College' for two 'years at one-half

SPEECH TOURNAMENT RESULTS: Congratulations to John Vail, Brian Rock, ~atyeillings, and
Connie Ferrin on their fine performances in the Mountain States Forensic Tournament held
at Phoenix College on January 23 and 24. With twenty-nine debate teams participating,
John and Brian debated their way into,the finals and earned a ,second place ~rophy~ Gary

Copland's The Tender Land, a contemporary music drama. The performances will begin at 8:30
