SPEECH TOURNA~NT RESULTS: Congratulations to the members of Glendale's speech squad for
their fine participation in the Pacific Southwest Collegiate Forensic Association's Fall
Championship Speech Tournament which was held on the East Los Angeles College campus on
December 4 and 5. Competing against students from twenty-nine other colleges, Glendale's
eleven member squad took home fourteen certificates and six trophies. Those students

SPEECH TOURNAMENT RESULTS: Congratulations to the members of Glendale's speech squad for
their fine participation in the Mountain States Forensic Classic which was hosted by Phoenix
College on January 22-23. Twenty--five colleges competed in the tournament. The representation
included junior colleges from Kansas, Nebraska, Kentucky, California, Utah, Missouri,
Washington, Arizona, Colorado, and Idaho. Glendale's squad placed third among all twenty
five colleges in total sweepstakes points. Glendale students receiving trophies for their
individual efforts are as follows: Gary Billings-1st place-Men's Informative Speaking;
Jeff Wilt-1st place-Men's Rhetorical Criticism; Judy Wagoner-2nd place (tie)-Women's
Persuasive Speaking; Judy'Wagoner-2nd p1ace-Women's Informative Speaking; Peggy Gambee-2nd

eproductions of famous paintings, framed, ready for hanging, and valued at approximately
1500.00, will go on open circulation beginning Wednesday, February 3, 1971. The reproductions
re being displayed along the glass wall of the patio in the IMe. The prints are circulated
n a first come first served basis. In order to make the prints available to as many students
s possible, there will be no renewals, with a limit of one print per borrower. All prints
irculating February 3 will be due March 24, 1971. Only students will be allowed to check
ut paintings on February 3 and 4; if any remain, these will become available to faculty and
taff beginning February 5. Borrowers assume full responsibility for liability in the event
f loss or damage, but there is no rental fee for borrowing. We are very proud to make fine

general, the call number sequence runs clockwise around the
building, beginning with A on the west side of the patio
and ending with Z in the southeast corner. To check a book
out, take it to the Circulation Desk, present your student
identification card and sign your name and social security
number on the book card. The due date will be stamped
inside the book.
Use the card catalog, located in front of the Circulation
Desk, to find the call numbers of books. If you know the
author or the exact title, consult the Author-Title section.

SPEECH TOURNAMENT RESULTS: Congratulations to the members of Glendale's speech squad for
their fine competitive effort in taking home the second place sweepstakes trophy from the
Regional Phi Rho Pi speech tournament hosted by the College of Eastern Utah on March 5 & 6.
Glendale speakers competed against other junior college speakers from Colorado, Utah, Idaho,
Wyoming, and Arizona. The individual awards which resulted in the sweepstakes' award are as
follows: Jane Turner, 1st place Women's Persuasive Speaking and 2nd place Women's Informative
Speaking; Judy Wagoner, 1st place Women's Informative Speaking; Jeff Wilt, 2nd place
Men's Impromptu Speaking and 2nd place Men's Rhetorical Analysis; Phyllis Miller, 3rd place
Women's Rhetorical Analysis; Alan Fisher and Tim Holtzen, 3rd place Debate. The Sll7eepstakes
Trophy will be on display in the Student Center.
ASU RESPRSENTATIVES will be on our campus March 25 - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will be located
