Gentlemen: We beg to submit herewith the Glendale City Library budget for the coming fiscal year. This budget was adopted by the Library Board after a painstaking examination and thorough discussion of the library and community needs. Our library must be open six days a week and at least eight hours a day. We realize the financial difficulties in which this City, like other cities, finds itself. Accordingly, we have cut expenses down to a minimum: Purchase books: $500, Binding books & magazines: $100, Office & working supplies: $50, Filing cabinet: $50, Gas: $100, First Librarian (Monthly, $50): $600, Second Librarian (Monthly, $50): $600, Janitor: (Monthly, $15): $180.
