The regular meeting of the Pima County Medical Society was held at the Old Pueblo Club, Tucson, Ariz. At 8:30 P.M. Jan. 11, 1926. [ handwritten: 7? ] Dr. C.S. Kibler, President in the Chair. 28 members, 2 visitors present. The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. The following Scientific Program was presented:
Dr. V.M. Gore. Case Report. Perforating Gastric Ulcer Without Preceding
Symptology [ i.e., symptomatology ].
Dr. P.B. Newcomb. Presentation of Pathological Specimens. Autopsy.
Dr. C.S. Kibler. Case Report. Pulmonary Tuberculosis with Cavitation and
Recovery With Healing. Discussed by Drs. Davis, Mills and
Butler. Case Report. Case of Brain Abscess. Discussed by Dr.
Thomas, Gore & Butler.
Old Business. The Secretary read again the Editorial from the Arizona Daily Star (postponed from the preceding meeting) which reflected upon the Medical profession. No comment or action by the Society. Bill from Langers Floral Co. presented as part of expense of entertainment of the Medical & Surgical Assn. of The Southwest. Moved by Dr. Townsend, seconded by Dr. Callender [ Callander ] that the bill be paid. Carried. The Secretary read correspondence of minor importance which was ordered answered and filed. The Treasurer presented his Annual Report (herewith appended) which on motion of Dr. Thomas, seconded by Dr. Cates was accepted by vote. Dr. S.C. Davis made a report of the Committee On Elimination Of Evening Office Hours, presenting the same with the signatures of all but four members. Moved by Dr. Callender [ Callander ], seconded by Dr. Gore and duly carried that the report be accepted and filed, and the Committee discharged.
New Business. Election of Officers for 1927. Dr. Kirmse nominated Dr. V.M. Gore, Dr. Cates nominated Dr. C.E. Patterson for President. Dr. Davis moved, Dr. Cates seconded and carried to close the nominations. Drs. Mills and Turnage appointed as Tellers. The voting resulted in the election of Dr. C.E. Patterson as President. Vote 15 to 12. Dr. Patterson declared elected.
