Nomination for Vice-President. Dr. A.G. Schnabel by Dr. Wyatt. Upon motion of Dr. Gore, duly seconded and carried the nominations for this office were closed and the Secretary instructed to cast the ballot of the Society for Dr. Schnabel and he was declared elected. For Secretary-Treasurer Dr. Watson nominated Dr. P.B. Newcomb; moved by Dr. Thomas, seconded by Dr. Davis that the nominations be closed and the President cast the ballot for Dr. Newcomb, carried and Dr. Newcomb declared elected. For Censor for three years Dr. Mills placed in nomination Dr. Alvin Kirmse; moved by Dr. Davis, seconded by Dr. Watson that the nominations be closed and the Secretary be instructed to cast the unanimous ballot for Dr. Kirmse; carried and Dr. Kirmse declared elected. Dr. J.I. Butler took the floor to make remarks in regard to the reported methods of the Sunshine Climate Club in respect to health-seekers arriving in Tucson and made the following motion "that a Committee of five be appointed by nomination from the floor to gather information as to methods used and influences employed by the Sunshine Climate Club in directing patients and those coming in contact with patients in medical matters." Seconded by Dr. Mahoney. Dr. Kibler nominated by Dr. Butler; Dr. Mahoney nominated by Dr. Gore; Dr. Butler nominated by Dr. Thomas; Dr. Thomas nominated by Dr. Butler. Dr. Thomas withdraws his name and nominated Dr. Townsend. Dr. Shultz nominates Dr. Clyne. Dr. Gotthelf nominated by Dr. Mahoney. Dr. Gotthelf withdraws his name. Dr. Scultz [ Shultz ] moved, Dr. Callender [ Callander ] seconded, that the nominations be closed and the Secretary cast the ballot for Drs. Kibler, Mahoney, Butler, Townsend, and Clyne. Motion carried. Dr. C.A. Thomas urged that the members of the County Society join the Medical and Surgical Association of the Southwest and mentioned that he had application blanks on hand. Dr. Watson spoke on the matter of newspaper publicity by members of the County Society and specifically as concerned Dr. B.L. Wyatt. Discussed by Dr. Butler, Mills, Watson, and Thomas. It was moved by Dr. Thomas, seconded by Dr. Van Horn that "the President, Secretary and Board of Censors be appointed a Committee to draw up rules in accordance with the Code of Ethics of A.M.A. with a view of curtailing or controlling medical publicity in Pima County."
