Special Meeting--September 24, 1928.
A special meeting of the Society was called for a general discussion of the initiative measure pertaining to the healting [ healing ] art, which is to be voted upon at the coming election.
A letter from Dr. Carlson was read, detailing the activities of the State Committee on Legislation in connection with the above mentioned measure.
A motion by Dr. Huffman, seconded by Dr. DuVall, that Dr. Thomas be appointed to represent our County Society and confer with the State Legislative Committee in familiarizing the profession with conditions and solutions was passed. An open discussion of the initiative measure was entered into by Doctors Gore, Thomas, Huffman, Mahoney, Duvall and Mills.
A motion by Dr. Huffman, seconded by Dr. Thomas, that the arguments for the referendum made recently at local Society meetings shall remain unanswered by the medical profession for the present, amended by Dr. Davis that no member of the Society make and public expression except by permission or advice of Dr. Thomas of the Society, was passed. The motion was carried.
Member present: Doctors Norris, Thomas, Perkins, Callander, Huffman, DuVall, Townsend, Schaible, Gore, Mills, Mahoney, Balderrey, Kibler, Edwards, Kirmse, Carroll and Davis.
