Regular Meeting, Oct. 12, 1926
The Regular Meeting of the Pima County Medical Society was held Oct. 12, 1926 at the Old Pueblo Club, 8:30 P.M. Dr. V.M. Gore presided in the absence from the city of the President. A bill from the Chamber of Commerce for $25.00 Dues for 1926 was presented and ordered paid in due form, likewise a bill from the Old Pueblo Club for the April meeting, ordered paid. Discussion of the approaching visit of Dr. Edouard Rist of Paris, France, to the Society was opened by a letter from Dr. B.L. Wyatt announcing the prospective date as Friday, Oct. 29, 1926. Moved by Dr. J.I. Butler, duly seconded and carried, that a committee be appointed to organize a dinner at the Old Pueblo Club in honor of Dr. Rist preceding his address to the Society. Committee appointed by the President, Drs. Butler, Watson and Wyatt. A letter from Dr. B.L. Wyatt was read extending to the members of the Pima County Medical Society the privileges of the facilities of the Desert Sanitarium [ Sanatorium ] of Southern Arizona for their patients. No action taken and letter filed. The Report of the Committee on Medical Relief in Disaster of The American Medical Association was read and endorsed. A discussion of the approaching meeting of the Medical & Surgical Association of the Southwest in Tucson, Nov. 11-13th took place. Dr. J.I. Butler, who had been appointed Chairman of the Entertainment Committee by the President, made a report of Sub-Committees as follows: Reception, Hotels, Headquarters etc., Drs. Butler and Huffman. Smoker, Drs. Townsend, Shultz and Edwards (honorary). Dinner Dance, Drs. Wyatt, Clyne, Kibler, Whitmore, McFaul & Mann (honorary). Ladies Auxiliary, Mrs. B.L. Wyatt, Chairman. Program, Dr. C.A. Thomas, Chairman. The secretary announced the bank balance of the society and financial matters for the entertainment of the guests received extended discussion. It was moved by Dr. S.H. Watson, seconded by Dr. B. L. Wyatt, that the entertainment Committee make up budget for the meeting of the Medical & Surgical association of the Southwest and that the President and secretary of The Pima County Medical Society be empowered to prorate and collect an assessment on each member equal to the amount of
