Regular November Meeting
November 15, 1938.
Meeting was called to order at eight o'clock at the Santa Rita Hotel. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
A report of letters from the Tucson druggists answering the questionnaire to them was read by the secretary.
New members elected by letters of transfer from other societies were Dr. J.E. Andes and Dr. A.L. Gustetter. Those elected by vote of the Society after one year of residence were Dr. W.J. Nelson, Dr. W.G. Ure and Dr. E.H. Brown.
Dr. W. Paul Holbrook reported from the State Economic Committee on proposed forms for medical relief. Discussions by Doctors Clyne, Davidson [ Davison ], Carrell, Secrist, Littlefield, Thomas, Lindberg, Andes, Claude Davis and Watson.
A motion made by Dr. C.A. Thomas seconded and passed, that Dr. Holbrook bring to us all the proposed plans for study and consideration.
Report of the primary election was read.
Resolutions presented by Dr. Hill from the heads of the services at the Pima County Hospital:
1. That the Auditorium at the Pima County Hospital be designated as the regular place for meetings of the Pima County Medical Society.
2. That the Pima County Hospital Staff hold a regular meeting at 7:30 P.M. on the fourth Tuesday of every month.
3. That the officers of the Pima County Staff shall be the regularly elected members of the Governing Board of the Pima County Medical Society.
4. That a ward round be conducted twice monthly by the head of each service. The ward rounds at present to be scheduled as follows: 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. on the second Tuesday of every month preceding the regular meeting of the Pi,a [ Pima ] County Medical Society, and the second ward round of the month to follow the regular Pima County Hospital Staff meeting on the fourth Tuesday of every month.
5. That any service may establish any additional meetings, clinics, or ward rounds as it desires.
First, Second and Third sections of the resolutions passed; the Fourth and Fifth did not pass.
A visiting nurse for the Red Cross was approved.
"Concept of Allergy" was given by Dr. Benson Bloom.
