Regular January Meeting
January 9, 1940.
Meeting, 8:00 P.M., Desert Sanatorium.
Reading of Minutes: Correction: Dr. Holbrook instead of Dr. Hastings was next high man for Pima County Hospital Board of Control. (Dr. Hastings and Dr. Holbrook).
Dr. Littlefield reported that either Pioneer Hotel or Santa Rita Hotel were available for meetings. Dr. Kibler motioned, seconded by Dr. Mills, that meetings be held alternating between Santa Rita Hotel and Pioneer Hotel--four months period at each. Passed unanimously.
Motion by Dr. Littlefield that Hotel arrangements Committee for State Meeting be appointed, seconded by Dr. Dan Mahoney and passed. Dr. Littlefield appointed chairman of this Committee.
Dr. Secrist, in absence of Dr. Smith, announced that One Thousand Eighty Dollars ($10,80.00) was pledged for Sunshine Climate Club and only One Thousand Two Dollars ($1002.00) have been paid and remitted to that organization.
Dr. Littlefield introduced Dr. Angle, resident at Pima County Hospital, and brought up question of getting a temporary emergency state license for him. Motion by Dr. Littlefield that this Society go on record as stating that an emergency exists and that the State Board of Medical Examiners be asked to grant a temporary license. Motion seconded by Dr. Kibler passed unanimously. Dr. Gotthelf announced such a request would be granted. It was also agreed that Dr. Kirmse write letter to Board.
Dr. Roland A. Davison, as chairman of program committee, took charge of scientific program, which was composed of the following:
1. Primary Reticulo-endothelioma of the Spleen by Dr. O.J. Farness.
2. Discussion of the Pathological Relationships between Tuberculosis, Hodgkin's Disease and Malignancy by Dr. Siegfried Tannhauser.
3. The Weltman [ Weltmann ] Reaction by Dr. H.C. Thompson, Jr.
4. Cardinal Points in the Diagnosis of Periarteritis Nodosa by Dr. C.E. Bensema.
5. Case Report: Gastro-Intestinal Pseudoleukemia by Dr. Roland A. Davison.
