Regular Meeting
May 14, 1940.
Meeting came to order at 8:00 P.M., Tuesday night, May 14th, at the Veterans Bureau Hospital. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved.
Letter from Mr. W.J. Wasson, Secretary-Manager of Associated Hospital Service of Arizona, asking that the Society select a member to serve on its Board of Directors was read. Dr. Patterson motioned, and Dr. Littlefield seconded the motion, that the Chair appoint such a members. (Dr. W. Roy Hewitt was named later by Dr. Kohl).
The financial report of the Society was read.
Dr. J.B. Littlefield read a report form Medical Economics Committee. He also made a motion, seconded by Dr. Lyon, that Chair appoint a Medical Economics Committee of four members.
(Note: Later, Dr. Littlefield, Chairman, Dr. Carrell and Dr. Hewitt were named).
Milk Fund letter from Miss Esther Stolzman, City School Nurse, was read. A motion duly seconded, endorsing the campaign, was passed.
Dr. W.B. Steen talked on the interne [ intern ] situation. Dr. H.C. James motioned that the County obstetrical material be placed at disposal of internes. Dr. Holbrook seconded the motion.
The scientific program consisted of the following:
1. Relationship of Psychiatry to General Practice
by Dr. T. J. Hardgrove
2. Chronic Interstitial Pancreatitis
by Dr. I.H. [ E.H. ] Holvey
3. Thoracic Surgery in Ex-Service Men
by Dr. C.W. Rudolph
