Regular Meeting

Minutes of previous meeting read and approved.
Dr. Holbrook reported for the Committee on Medical Economics giving a review of the study on medical service plans. Their recommendation was that there should be an income limitation; secondly, that the delegates at the Arizona State Meeting support a plan including only those that had an income of Thirty-six Hundred Dollars ($3600.00) or less and that an attempt be made to include a portion of medical problems. Dr. Holbrook moved that our delegates support a plan limiting membership to those with Thirty-six Hundred Dollars ($3600.00) maximum income and that they be instructed to attempt the widest possible coverage for medical to be adopted by the State Medical Association. Seconded by Dr. Hugh Thompson. Discussion followed by Dr. Clyne, who mentioned the extra cost and hazard of including medical care as well as surgical. Motion carried.
Dr. Tappan reported for the Committee on Youth Health Service. She stressed the necessity of a survey being made to find out from all physicians the amount of care being given children.
Dr. Rudolph reported that good progress had been made in operation of the County Hospital, with organization developed under Dr. Thompson, Chief of Medicine and Dr. Littlefield, Chief of Surgery, Dr. Dixon introduced Dr. Gaines, new head of the Veterans Hospital.
Dr. Rudolph, in place of Dr. Hartman, reported for the Cancer Committee--about the work of the Cancer committee in the State.
Application of Dr. M.K. Mihran was accepted after a motion was made by Dr. Rudolph and seconded by Dr. Harry Thompson to that effect. It was also moved by Dr. Harry Thompson and seconded by Dr. Holbrook that application of Dr. Kosanke be accepted. Motion carried.
