Minutes of previous meeting read and approved.
Applications for transfer of Dr. Kenneth C. Baker and Dr. J.H. Roth were accepted for membership. Application of new membership of Dr. Kenneth Grant was received and accepted.
Dr. Witzberger announced the invitation to the annual barbeque at Dr. Hill's farm. Motion seconded and carried.
Dr. Howard then brought up the question of the recent Health Act passed by the Legislature--Senate Bill #58, an Act providing for local health departments. This Act required that the Society propose three names for which one would be chosen to serve on the joint County Board of Health. Dr. Present moved that the President and Secretary submit the names of members for the purpose. The proposal was endorsed by Dr. Howard. Motion was seconded and passed.
Dr. Lindberg spoke about the value of the "Tool Owners Union" and asked those doctors interested contact him or the executive secretary.
Dr. Williams reported that the film "Time is Life" is available for showing if any of the members desire it for showing to this or any other group.
Dr. W.G. Shultz reported on the activities of the AAPS reading a recent bulletin by the association.
A letter regarding the out-patient care for veterans of World War II was brought to the attention of the Society. Dr. Hastings recommended that the delegates from Pima County get together on this and other matters coming up before the Council at the State Meeting in May. Dr. Littlefield moved, Dr. Hastings seconded the motion, that the delegated be instructed to recommend the adoption of the V.A. program as outlined. Motion carried.
