Executive Committee Meeting
Doctors present for this meeting: Doctors H.W. Kohl, R.E. Hastings, E.M. Hayden and J.D. Francis.
It was decided that when primary ballot is sent out, it also include a list of officers--president, secretary and vice-president--for the past fifteen years. Cancer committee members and governing board members also to be listed. Also, in voting for delegates, list men who are already are delegates by virtue of office. Also list delegates for the past year.
It was moved that Mr. Pyle be invited to come before the October meeting and talk on the Sunshine Climate Club.
It was moved and approved that Doctors Hayden and Hastings sign the Articles of Incorporation.
Dr. J.B. Littlefield as Chairman of Publicity Committee appeared before the Executive Committee with recommendations for publicity pertaining to the City and County Sanitary District. Executive Committee recommended that approval be given to the project. Publicity Committee empowered to cooperate with Public Health Authorities concerning publicity.
Dr. Littlefield next reported on a request from Mrs. Jeffries of the Sunday Evening Forum that we provide a moderator for their meeting of October 17th when Dr. Morris Fishbein will speak on "Various Aspects of Socialized Medicine." Moved that the Society in conjunction with the Sunday Evening Forum sponsor a reception after the speech honoring Dr. and Mrs. Fishbein. A special entertainment committee was appointed consisting of Dr. M. O'Connor, Chairman, Dr. W.R. Manning and Dr. Harry Thompson.
Dr. H.W. Kohl and R.E. Hastings will meet Dr. Fishbein at the train on Sunday October 17th.
Dr. H.W. Kohl moved that the Publicity Committee be authorized to spend funds to advertise how to obtain a doctor in case of emergency or if unable to find their own doctor.
Dr. H.W. Kohl moved that the following men be requested to appear before the Executive Committee to answer questions on revision of Medical Practice Act, removal of osteopaths from State Medical Board, socialized medicine, Murray, Wagner-Duggill [ Dingell ] Bill, etc.: Garvey, Brockett, Kimball, Mead, Harold Patten and opponents. Carried unanimously.
