(3) To conserve and promote the public health;
(4) To secure unity and harmony in the profession so as to make effective its opinions in all scientific, legislative, public health, material and social affairs, to the end that the profession may receive the respect and support from the community to which its honorable history and great achievements entitle it;
(5) For the better attainment of these objects, the Society aims to bring into one organization all reputable, ethical and competent physicians, possessing the qualifications herein specified, of Pima County, and to unite with other County Societies to form the Arizona State Medical Association, and through it with other State Associations to form and maintain the American Medical Association.
ARTICLE V
Sec. 1. Every legally licensed practitioner of medicine or surgery in the County of Pima, State of Arizona, who is of good moral and ethical standing, who does not support or claim to practice sectarian medicine, and who possesses the qualifications set out in these Articles and in the By-laws of this Society, shall be eligible to membership.
Sec. 2. The Society shall be the sole and exclusive judge of the qualifications for membership of its applicants or members, whether applicants or members by transfer or otherwise, and the vote of the Society upon applications for membership shall be conclusive upon the question of the right to membership.
Sec. 3. The Society shall have the power from time to time to prescribe qualifications for membership, subject only to these Articles and shall have the power to amend, add or remove such qualifications as it, in its unfettered discretion, deems most conducive to the welfare of the Society and most in consonance with its aims and purposes.
Sec. 4. The Society shall have the power to provide for term of probationary memberships and for the automatic termination of such memberships, upon such terms and conditions as the Society shall adopt from time to time.
Sec. 5. Provisions for qualifications for membership and for term or probationary memberships shall be adopted as By-laws of the Society and shall be adopted, amended or repealed in the matter herein provided for the amendment of By-laws generally.
