shall be a term-membership of two years from date of election. At the end of the two year term-membership, such membership shall automatically expire.
(b) Each member, within three months prior to the expiration of his term-membership, or at any time thereafter, may apply for permanent membership in the Society, and such application shall be treated for all purposes as though it were an original application for membership.
(c) Each member of the Society, throughout his term-membership, shall enjoy the full and complete privileges of the membership, for all purposes. Any office or position in the Society occupied by a tem-member shall be automatically vacated upon the expiration of the term-membership of such member, unless such member shall apply for and be elected to permanent membership in the Society as of the date of expiration of his term-membership.
(d) Nothing herein contained shall in any way affect any existing membership in the Society, and the provisions hereof shall extend to all applicants for membership, whether by way of transfer or otherwise.
Section 3. Active Members
(a) All active members shall be equally privileged to attend all meetings and take part in all proceedings, and shall be eligible to hold any office or honor within the gift of the Society so long as they conform to this constitution and By-Laws, including the payment of dues. An active member who is under sentence of suspension or expulsion shall not be permitted to take part in any of the proceedings, or be eligible to any office until relieved of such disability. None of the privileges of membership shall be extended any person not a member of this Society except on a majority vote of the Society in regular meeting.
(b) An active member in good standing who is free from indebtedness to the Society and against whom no charges are pending, wishing to withdraw, shall be granted a transfer card. This card shall state the date the member associated himself with this Society, the date of issuance of the card, and shall be signed by the President and the Secretary. It shall be accompanied by a copy of the application presented at the time the member joined the Society, for the information of the Society to which the member desires to attach himself.
(c) An active member who is guilty of criminal offense or of gross misconduct as a citizen, or of grossly unethical conduct as a physician or of conduct displeasing to the majority of the membership of this Society, or who violates any of the Articles of Incorporation of the By-Laws of the Society, shall be liable to censure, suspension or expulsion.
