The meeting was held in the Varsity Room at the Pioneer Hotel, and was called to order at 8: P.M. by the President, Dr. Hugh C. Thompson, who expressed his appreciation for being elected to the presidency and stated that he hoped to be able to fulfill the office to the best of the Society's expectations.
In the absence of the Secretary, the President read a summary of the Minutes of the Board of Directors meeting of January 9th, 1950. There being no questions or discussion, the Minutes were approved as read. Dr. Beaton moved, and the motion was seconded, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 12th, 1949, be dispensed with. Motion carried.
The President introduced the first speaker, Dr. Robert S. Flinn, President of the Arizona Medical Association, who visited in England last summer and spoke of his observations of the English doctor under compulsory health insurance.

2. Perfect the physician-patient relationship-perfect the relations of doctors with people generally, so that it will be impossible for members of New Deal or Labor Party to socialize medicine.
3. Discuss fees in advance. If a bill is written, explain just what it is or, and discuss bills with patients.
4. Never have a visit without telling patient something about what is happening in the course of the case.
5. Keep down overoptimistic prognoses.
