Amendment to Chapter 1, Section 2, Page 14; Add a new sentence at end:
To eligible to election as a Censor the candidate must have been a member of this Society at least five years.
Amendment to Chapter 4, Section 3, Page 24, by adding new Paragraph:
Resident physicians in local hospitals who become members of this Society by transfer shall be obligated to only one-half of the dues assessed by this Society, plus whatever may be assessed by the Arizona Medical Association.
Dr. Newcomb: "I move that these Amendments by brought before the Society for confirmation." Motion seconded by Dr. Shoun.
Dr. Cogswell: "It would be pretty expensive if they wish to take hospital work and keep up their membership."
Dr. Steen: "I do not believe that the Board of Directors should be made to stay off for three years. I make an amendment to this first section that it be made for one year instead of three years."
Dr. Newcomb: "I will not accept that amendment."
Dr. Newcomb's original motion carried.
The Secretary stated that Dr. R.K. Smith, who was last year made an Honorary Member, now wished to be reinstated to active membership, which brings up the question as to whether the State would recognize this, since his honorary membership was not recognized in the State least year, and he would be delinquent in his State dues. It was decided to accept his active membership in the local Society, and see what action the State might take.
Meeting adjourned.
