of Arizona, stating that these papers are prepared with much more care and are supposed to be of a caliber to be published. He felt that having them mimeographed so that they could be distributed among the residents and internes would be a mater of encouragement and incentive, and thought that the approximate cost for about fifty copies would be about $12.00 to $15.00 each, and that the estimate for the season would be in the neighborhood of $150.00.
Dr. Harry Thompson thought this a very worthwhile project.
Dr. Kohl stated that the best ones might be published in Arizona Medicine, that an editorial board could be set up in the Society to choose them, and that Arizona Medicine would be glad to have them.
Motion seconded by Dr. Hayden and carried.
Dr. Harry Thompson state that he didn't think much had been done for the Central Residency Committee, that Dr. Shoun had done a great deal of work and that his program is shaping up beautifully. He felt that the Society should give the Residency Committee $150.00 for stenographic use if he feels he needs it. Dr. Thompson reiterated that the resident program now has partial approval and may get full approval, and he felt we must show that the Society is interested and have something really concrete to show the approving agencies.
Dr. Hewitt said that he believe the Residency Committee should have money if necessary, but that he does not feel it should be used for reprinting papers.
Dr. Rudolph asked Dr. Shoun if the Central Residency Committee felt that reprinting their papers would be a good thing to do.
Dr. Shoun stated that he had not asked them particularly recently, but that the chief use of the mimeographed copy would be to give out at the seminar meetings.
Dr. Harry Thompson remarked that these are complete seminars--the resident works it up from all angles, with adequate presentation of Basic Sciences. He moved that the Central Residency Committee be given $150.00 to be used if necessary for stenographic work involved in their seminars.
Dr. Shoun said that he would like a little more time on it.
Dr. Hugh Thompson asked Dr. Shoun to come to the next meeting with a specific program on this item.
