and he thought that the Board of Directors should go on record to the Committee on Medical Economics of the Arizona Medical Association as not approving this Bill, but as approving some such legislation as EMIC which worked so satisfactorily during World War II. A letter from Dr. Laidlaw, School Physician, requesting up-to-date list of doctors willing to participate in School Health Council plan, a list of doctors willing to take emergency cases such as injuries on the football field, and that doctors who exclude their patients from Physical Education classes be asked to provide a medical reason in such requests, was read. It was suggested that those injured in sports be sent to hospital, that new members of the Society since this plan went into effect be contacted for additions to the list of those willing to participate in this Plan, and moved by Dr. Hugh Thompson that a note be placed on the next notice to the effect that Dr. Laidlaw has requested that medical reason for exclusion from P.E. classes be given by the attending physician. Motion seconded by Dr. Kent and carried.
In reply to subscription inquiry from U. of Arizona Student Union Memorial Building Fund; it was moved by Dr. Hastings that no pledge can be made by the Society as such; that appeal may be made to the members as individuals only.
Letter from the Arizona Division of the American Cancer Society in connection with this year's drive for funds was referred to the Cancer Committee by motion of Dr. Harry Thompson.
Upon motion of Dr. Kent, term members Doctors Francis J. Bean, Jack Klein and Emmet P. Waddell, were accepted by the Board of directors upon recommendation of the Board of Censors. Motion seconded by Dr. Hastings and carried.
It was moved by Dr. Hugh Thompson that Dr. Willard L. Strode's resignation from the Society by accepted. Motion seconded by Dr. Hastings and carried.
It was moved by Dr. Hugh Thompson that a letter of inquiry concerning our Grievance Committee's organization and operation be referred to the Secretary for reply. Motion seconded by Dr. Hayden and carried.
Letter of thanks from Tucson Sunshine Climate Club for our cooperation in petitioning for Gadsden Purchase Centennial Stamp was read.
Dr. Hugh Thompson moved that the Pima County Medical Society be listed in the Directory of Social Resources, and that under this listing a summary of the services furnished to the community by the Society be included, at the discretion of the Chairman of the Publicity Committee. Motion seconded by Dr. Harry Thompson and carried.
