REGULAR MEETING
December 14, 1954
This meeting was held at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, at the invitation of Colonel Robert C. Love and the medical Staff at the Air Force Base Hospital. It was preceded by a conducted tour of the installation of the 15th Fighter Interceptor Squadron. This included a briefing on the purposes and functions of this unit, an exhibit of the pilot's equipment and the plane used in this branch of Air Defense, and of the radar operation. Cocktails were served in the Officer's Club at 5: P.M., followed by an excellent steak dinner at 7: P.M.
The meeting of the Society was called to Order at 8: P.M. by the President, Dennis Bernstein, and the hosts were introduced to the membership. They were

Colonel Love, on behalf of Colonel Whipple and General Ohman, welcomed the members of the Society to Davis-Monthan Air Base. He asked that, following the business program of the Society, there be a short intermission, and then that the members gather in the dining hall of the Club for the program.
Motion was made, seconded and carried that reading of the Minutes of the regular Meeting of November 9th, 1954, be dispensed with. Minutes of the Board of Directors Meeting of December 2, 1954, and, there being no corrections or objections, they were approved as read.
The President appointed Tellers to tally the ballots for Election of Officers, as follows:

Hiram D. Cochran
W.C. Finn
E.R. Updegraff
and
Martin S. Withers,
and they were instructed to retire to one of the offices in the Club to make the count.
When the members had gathered in the Dining Hall, films were shown of the rocket tests made with live animals, and of the pressure suits worn by pilots in high altitude flying, and of the development of this equipment from a medical viewpoint. Explanatory and descriptive remarks were made by Colonel Love. X-rays of a very interesting case of coccidioidomycosis were also available for viewing.
The tally of ballots being only partially completed at this time, the President announced the names of those elected to office as follows:
