Dr. Harry Thompson suggested that Dr. Bean would be the best man to approach for material.
Dr. Beaton remarked that he thought something should be included from a Society angle, and that he would certainly look over the material over before publishing.
Dr. Hastings inquired if Mr. O'Mara would have the final say after it is written.
Dr. Beaton thought so, said that he had not mentioned this, but that Mr. O'Mara had not seemed to think there would be any difficulty.
Dr. Rudolph said that he thought it awfully important that the material Mr. O'Mara gets from us be published, and that the Committee give it a good deal of thought before it is published, remarking that there has been publicity in the past but no all of its good.
Dr. Beaton said that to his way of thinking it is just a matter of contacting that people who know the County and how it works the best.
Dr. Harry Thompson asked if Dr. Beaton would have any idea as to how it would be written up by Mr. O'Mara.
Dr. Beaton replied that he thought this would be best left to Mr. O'Mara, but that maybe it would be a good idea for him to call Dr. Bean to get in touch with Mr. O'Mara, and have Dr. Bean get up a list of people he thinks Mr. O'Mara should see to get the best ideas.
Dr. Harry Thompson suggested that Dr. Beaton ought to have a script, an idea of what he actually wanted to present, a synopsis of the story he wants to tell--a description, for instance, of how patients were cared for at Southern Methodists, the new hospital, what happened during the War, since the War, progressing to the present time, and said that perhaps Dr. Meade Clyne, Dr. C.A. Thomas, or Dr. J. Metzger might be able to give him some of this information.
Dr. Beaton said that he did not know if the newspaper would be interested in the history. It was his thought that if Mr. O'Mara had a chance to sit down with half a dozen of the medical men he could get his own ideas of how it should be written, because he knows more about it than anyone else, but that he would try to work it out with Dr. Bean because perhaps it would be more politic and practical to work with him.
Dr. Hastings remarked that most people in town have no idea that there is working agreement whereby the doctors provide at no expense the medical care at the County Hospital, and how this came about.
Dr. Beaton thought that the history part might be a good introduction; that he would call Dr. Bean and tell him, draw up a synopsis of a series of articles, including the various services, and, if possible, something about the present working of the Society and something of the problem of medical care; also that he would obtain pictures form Dr. Bean.
Dr. Farness remarked that Dr. Jeremiah Metzger has some pre-county information.
Dr. Beaton said that this matter would probably run past his tour of office, but that he did think it was good idea.
Dr. Harold Kohl reported for the Censor's Committee, that only one meeting had been held since the last report and that this consisted of a gathering at which all doctors who had been in any way connected with the N_____-Lieberman case were interviewed and included one non-medical man; that the Censors are now awaiting some affidavits which will be final testimony. He stated that Dr. Hayden, who is ill, had called him today, stating that all the affidavits are now in and that he has had an additional communication from Mrs. N_____, who wants to offer information which is in direct contradiction to things obtained from the doctors involved. The Board of Censors will meet Mrs. N_____ and then come up with a recommendation to the Board of Directors
