What is the Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities?
The Arizona State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council is authorized under the Federal Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act (Public Law 106-402).
How does the Council Pursue its Mission?
The Council seeks to ensure the adequate provision of services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their family members through statewide planning that incorporates advocacy, systems changes and capacity building.

What is the DD Network? Who are the Members of the Council?
Twenty-five members serve on the Council. Members include: ? Individuals with developmental disabilities ? Family members of individuals with developmental disabilities ? Individuals who represent the agencies that serve persons with developmental disabilities in Arizona. What goals and objectives are addressed in the 2001-2006, five-year plan?
The areas of emphasis in the Council's current five-year plan are education, employment, community supports and self-advocacy.
are partner organizations that, together, form the Arizona Developmental Disabilities Network. The three organizations are authorized under the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act (Public Law 106-402) and receive funding from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Developmental Disabilities. The Arizona Developmental Disabilities Network partners work collectively and collaboratively to foster the independence, advocacy and community integration of individuals with developmental disabilities.
How does the Council accomplish the goals and objectives of the fiveyear plan?
The Council implements the plan with the assistance of staff, district councils, contractors and collaborative partnerships.
