DESCRIPTION
This relief is one of thirteen Works Program Administration (WPA) reliefs created by David Swing for the Arizona Exposition & State Fair . This relief , set into the grandstand , depicts two men making adobe brick . Adobe brick can be made by hand with Arizona's natural clay mixed with water , straw and sometimes manure . Once the materials are mixed together , they are shaped into a brick and then completely baked by the sun . Once the brick is completely sunbaked , it can then be used in construction of homes , missions and other structures .
