DESCRIPTION	Ed Juliber became the 3rd President of Thunderbird in 1952, following the resignation of William Schurz, who left the presidency to return to teaching and writing. Juliber served as president for only a year and a half from January 1, 1952 to June 30, 1953 when he became Executive Vice President of Phoenix Title and Trust Co. Prior to coming to Thunderbird, he was Deputy Controller of the U.S. Army Transportation Corps in Washington, D.C. and had spent a year and a half as civilian chief of the Tokyo Administration Team, the import-export agency representing the Ryukyu Islands in Far Eastern trade during the Japanese occupation period under General MacArthur in Japan. One of Juliber's objectives as president was to raise funds to keep the school afloat, which he did by visiting more than 70 corporate executives. His argument was that the School was producing a product, just like companies do. "The only difference between you and us" he would say, "is that we never collect for it" and he would give his pitch for funds in return for the employees that companies had hired from Thunderbird.
