DESCRIPTION
The "Discover Crafts in Tucson " exhibit held February 10 to March 2 , 1958 was the fourth annual "Craft Show " presented by the Craft Guild of Tucson . The show displayed five invitational craft exhibits by architect Arthur Brown , interior decorator Ray Salzman , shopkeeper Pauline Young , collector Lillard Sanders , and housewife Mrs . Charles Newcomb . The Tucson Craft Guild was organized in 1954 for the purpose of promoting an interest in handmade useful artifacts . The guild helped its membership of over 100 amateur craftsmen find outlets for their production and encourage higher standards for their works .
