Lake Mead was originally dry land and had been occupied by prehistoric cultures. Lake Mead is a reservoir for the water from Hoover Dam, which was completed in 1935. At the time of this painting, Lake Mead was only a couple years old and was still filling with water from the dam.Date Original1937-1939Date Range1930s (1930-1939)TypeStill ImageOriginal FormatPaintings (visual works)Contributing InstitutionArizona Capitol MuseumCollectionDavid Swing Painting Collection at the Arizona Capitol MuseumRights StatementIn Copyright http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/ Copyright and/or publication rights for all images in this collection are retained by this institution.
