SubjectChiricahua National Monument (Ariz.)Guest ranchesDude ranches--Arizona--History.Trails--Arizona--History.DescriptionThis photograph shows the arrival of a tour group at the Chiricahua National Monument (transported from the train station by bus). The guests were most likely a part of the Three Nations Tour that was promoted as a part of the Happiness Tours. They had embarked by a private Pullman train from Chicago, Illinois, and stopped at various locations in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. In 1946 and 1947, the tour had a stop at the Wonderland of Rocks-Chiricahua National Monument, where they were guests at a chuck wagon dinner hosted by Bill and Jessie Spragge at the Silver Spur Ranch, and were led on hiking tours of the trails through the Chiricahua National Monument.
