The terms “historic property” or “historic properties,” as cited within the State Historic Preservation Act, refer to properties that are eligible for, or listed on, the Arizona Register of Historic Places. Responses indicate a continuing decline in the number of agencies that are integrating historic preservation into their planning endeavors at many levels. There continues to be a lack of understanding that the term “historic property” as included in the State Historic Preservation Act refers to any property that is eligible for, or listed on, the Arizona Register of Historic Places, not just to properties dating from the historic period.
