CreatorGeorge MagnanDescriptionThis catalogue for the "6th Annual Festival Show of Arizona Art," which was held from April 9-22, 1956, was designed by George Magnan. The feel of the show was experimental in nature with works being displayed in a “machine like” way by using wire, cord, plastics, frames, and screens to suspend the pictures from the ceiling or project them out from the gallery walls. The works themselves were experimental and very abstract and were exhibited to compliment the unusual display methods employed. There were works by 55 artists exhibited with the first prize awarded to Mac Schweitzer’s watercolor “Hunting Eagle."
