Description
Rectangular sterling silver smoking tray (one of two) designed for the USS Arizona Silver Service and made with a wooden bottom. The sides of the tray are made of pierced silver in geometric patterns. The long sides display either the state seal or the NAVY emblem. Each symbol is displayed under an eagle and flanked by double swagged flags and cacti. The shorter sides each have a simple silver handle. The interior of the tray is partitioned. To one side is a silver covered section with three attached devices: two for disposing of ashes and one containing a wick. To the side of the attachments is a small door which opens up and exposes a compartment with a wood bottom. To either side of this small door are silver loops in a twisted rope pattern. The tray sits on four feet shaped like shells.
