The switchboard operator and-connected incoming calls to switchboard recepticles using corded plugs. Calls could be made to Holbrook, Albuquerque, Greer, Show Low, Whiteriver, Pinetop, Tucson, Prescott, Phoenix and Alpine. This telephone switchboard was last used by Show Low's long-time telephone operator, Jenny Stock, photographed above. Western States Telephone Co., Inc. served 1,800 subscribers using switchboards such as this prior to 1959.
