Message reads "Dear Lee, Thanks for the papers you thought to send. I certainly enjoyed looking them over. We are getting some warm days now - our friend Merrill has begun bringing in fresh garden [?]. He gave us spinach, radishes and onions to make salad. Don't you want some? Our hens are doing fine so have lots of eggs and they are 40. I wish we were going to see you all in your new home this summer but we can't afford it. Lee does not expect to get any vacation this year. I am going out on the Merrill ranch for a few days next wk. Will's school lasts but one wk. more after this. Love to you all, Hattie."
