Institution Information
Description
The first Round Valley Library was dedicated in October of 1967. It started with a collection of 1,500 books furnished by the Arizona Library Extension Service, and an additional 300 books donated by local residents. It was operated entirely on a volunteer basis by the Round Valley Women's Club of Springerville and Eagar.
The current library building, located in Eagar, Arizona, was opened in June of 2009 and now includes a collection of 20,703 books, as well as movies, audio books and electronic resources. It is operated by a staff of 4 regular employees, 2 floating employees, and several volunteers.
Round Valley Public Library has been actively involved in helping to preserve and share local history since 2014. The partnership with the Forest Service in 2016 has been the biggest project to date.
