He graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in range ecology and was drafted into the U.S. Army for World War II. Mr. Proctor talks of his experiences in the Army and his time serving in the Pacific during the war. After the war, he worked in Mexico as a livestock evolutionist with a hoof and disease program. Then he worked for the U.S. Forest Service. After retirement, Mr. Proctor moved to Patagonia and served one term as County Supervisor for Santa Cruz County.
